Characteristics

NewTom X-PSP is a CR (Computed Radiography) system that combines advanced digital diagnostic technology with the advantages of traditional film plates. Compact, well designed and easy to use, it digitizes images acquired by the phosphor plate scanners in just a few seconds, making them immediately available on a PC or iPad via a dedicated app.

Thanks to its versatility, the system is also ideal for a full range of dental applications that includes endodontics, prosthetics, implant surgery, periodontics and caries diagnosis. High-resolution images (34 pixels/mm) ensure detailed, reliable diagnoses.

Once the X-rays have been taken, the plates are inserted into the reader one at a time. The images are then transferred to the local PC or the client who reserved the reader. Thanks to NNT software (or other viewers), images can be consulted, stored, shared, printed or emailed, optimising workflows.

Tools

The plates used by NewTom X-PSP consist of a phosphor layer and a magnetic layer that speeds up the reading process with an automatic scan sequence start (AUTO-READ TECHNOLOGY)

Plate size recognition is also automatic.

Apt filters

Technologically innovative NewTom ApT (Adaptive Picture Treatment) filters improve diagnostic efficacy. Proprietary algorithms optimised for phosphor plates allow each scan to generate up to 5 images with different levels of sharpness, allowing users to highlight anatomical details that are essential for a targeted diagnosis.

NNT

Using NNT software, the X-PSP system can apply advanced processing filters in Adaptive MultiVision mode, ensuring practitioners can count on highly flexible image management.
xpsp-autoread

Auto-read technology

The system automatically recognises the plate size and extracts it from the protective shell without exposing it to light or direct contact.

Ergonomics

xpsp-ergonomia

NewTom X-PSP is designed to deliver outstanding ergonomics and optimised workflows. The status LED above the plate insertion slot lets you monitor operation of the device in real time. Thanks to Adaptive Multi-User Technology (aMUT), the Ethernet connection ensures fast, secure transfer of images to the local PC or server.

This technology lets users manage the remote reading system with reservations made directly from the workstation next to the patient chair (client PC). Scanned images are automatically saved on the medical record of the patient pre-selected in NNT and made available immediately on the PC alongside the patient, streamlining practitioner-patient communication and speeding up diagnostics.

The reader can be positioned on a worktop or wall-mounted, making it suitable for any practice layout. Phosphor plate scanners have an active area that covers 100% of the plate, are flexible and allow users to minimise X-ray exposure with the ECO DOSE function, ensuring comfort and precision. Always sharp and high-quality, the images can be displayed extremely quickly, improving diagnostic efficiency
